Jazz Martini night posterYet another great time was had by all at the Burlap and Bean inauguration on June 4, 2011. We played the new stage and with some excellent help by Kyle, who did dual duty of mixing drinks and mixing sounds, we really enjoyed ourselves and focused on the playing. Thanks again to Burlap and Bean for hosting us for this gig.

This gig was a total blast. There had to be more than 150 people there over the evening, and it was really like playing a jazz club. Without smoke. With great coffee. And the last of the Iron Hill Coffee Stout that was made with Burlap and Bean coffee. I think they did well in their fundraiser. Thanks B&B!!!

What a fabulous place to play. We set up in the "music room" with frescos and paintings everywhere. A wonderful, warm room to play. A shame we were the background music, but nevertheless we really had a good time and the people were very friendly.

We played a second in a series of bi-monthly performances at Whole Foods in Devon on Friday, March 5th. The manager was welcoming and the shoppers friendly - who would have thought jazz in a food store? But it worked out just great.

Whole foods in Devon PA is featuring "First Fridays" music and we'll be back again sometime in April or May.

Equinox played a second "Free Music Wednesday" show at Burlap and Bean on March 18th. We had a great time; highlights (from the drummer's chair, anyway) were Stevie Wonder's "I Wish," Footprints, So What, and Girl from Ipanema.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by. We are actively searching for places to play, so more news soon on any additional bookings for the summer/fall of 2009.

This show was our first outing in several months. We regrouped after adding our guitar player, Joe Capizzi, and stumbled on this coffee shop and their excellent performing arts program. The gig was packed, with lots of people stopping by to hear live jazz. Click the audio link at the end of the post to hear a sample.
